Padmé's Early Years In Public Service

Padmé Naberrie was born in a small mountain village and only later took the name 'Amidala' as her royal name and continued to use it in her political life. In her early years it became apparent to many that she was extremely talented. As such she was given an excellent education and soon began volunteering for the Refugee Relief Movement, just like her father before her. It was her efforts accompanied by the other volunteers that helped in the Shadda-Bi-Boran exodus.

At the age of eight she joined the Apprentice Legislature, and by the eleven years of age she had become an Apprentice Legislator. Following this she served as the supervisor (also called Governor) of Theed for two years.

When Amidala announced her intention to run for office she was looked down on by citizens and older politicians like Sio Bibble as being to young. Amidala was not from a wealthy family, her parents weren't intellectual, they were farmers. But as Supervisor of Theed she had been known to be wise, and she put the knowledge she had obtained from her education and her wisdom to good use now. She travelled throughout Naboo campaining, and when the time came people put their trust in her and she won in an election that lasted only four minutes. She had won the respect and love of the people, including those politicians that had once thought her to young.
